Claudia Caviezel's contribution to the all-female group exhibition Room With Its Own Rules – a riff on the title of Virginia Woolf's paean to the right of women to a free and independent life - is her transparent textile print Accra. Caviezel interprets a classic English wallpaper motif overlaid with her signature mythical landscape of tropical colours, wildlife and plants. Inspired by a narrative about life in Ghana's capital when it was a British colony, Caviezel's landscape creates an unspoken commentary as nature reclaims and recolonises human settlements.
