Inspired by her favourite childhood toy – a framed wooden puzzle of moveable cubes painted in geometric patterns – Claudia Caviezel made her own puzzle set of cubes painted with geometric shapes to design her rug collection. By rearranging shapes within the frame, Caviezel created patterns for the collection's rectangular rug format. Her rug designs include strié patterns within blocks, and a paint splatter effect that extends between blocks. A triangle of green nestles against a brick-red pool of chromosome-like shapes overlaid with a scattering of small blue icebergs. Caviezel instructed her weavers to include intentional colour mistakes in these areas to create lively peppered colour zones.
