Soglio is defined by contrasts. Designed during a residency at a historic ceramics factory in Portugal, Caviezel kept Grono shapes and forms but changed the palette and technique. Caviezel's high definition black and white zones are created by hand dipping each piece into glaze. The shape of the pottery determines where the line between the white and black zones appears, while the angle and depth of dipping defines the line of demarcation. Shape, serendipity, and the artistry of each dip ensure every piece in the collection is unique.
