Kelim Collection

Consumer desire for the beauty of minimal geometric kelim flatweave rug designs is due in no small part to Swiss rug expert Werner Weber. His book Undiscovered Minimalism brought global attention to kelims from Mazandaran, Iran. Claudia Caviezel collaborated with Weber to create her limited edition Tomils kelim collection woven in Iran. Caviezel's designs interpret Weber's description of Mazandaran kelims as the aesthetic of the simple. Caviezel paired traditional colours with shiny, strong contemporary hues, and contrasted traditional tribal geometric patterns with striking “new” geometric shapes such as the razor blade-like isosceles trapezoid.
